Procedure for retracting articles
Procedure for withdrawing articles published in a scientific journal
«Applied questions of mathematical modelling»
1. Grounds for withdrawal
The retraction of the article(s) is applied in cases of:
- establishment by the authors, editors or reviewers of serious errors in calculations, application of incorrect methods or research tools that invalidate the conclusions;
- detection of dishonesty, in particular fabrication or falsification of source data or results (in particular with the use of AI);
- presence of self-plagiarism or plagiarism - borrowing of text, ideas or results without proper reference to the original source;
- duplication of publication: the article was submitted to the "Visnyk of Kherson National Technical University" or its fragments have already been published in another publication;
- violation of publication ethics.
2. Article withdrawal procedure
2.1 Initiating an article retraction
Sources of initiation may be:
- authors' requests: authors discovered the error independently;
- messages from readers through appeals to the editorial office;
- internal monitoring: the editorial office discovered the violation after publication.
2.2 Investigation
The editor-in-chief of the journal forms a commission of members of the editorial board or external experts. The authors are invited to provide explanations and primary data. The scale of the violations committed is established and the commission's decision is formalized in a protocol.
2.3 Decision making
If the evidence supports the need for retraction, the editor-in-chief makes the final decision to retract the article and place it in the appropriate open archive.
2.4 Filing a notice of withdrawal
The archive of retracted articles contains the article itself with the watermark "Retracted", as well as a retraction notice containing the title of the article, bibliographic citation and DOI, as well as a clear explanation of the initiative for the retraction, its reasons, and a list of authors who agreed or disagreed with this decision. The retraction notice and the article itself are "stitched" together with hyperlinks.
