Abstract

The article presents the results of research and analysis of the state of Ukraine's international trade in the conditions of a full-scale invasion that took place on February 24, 2022 and had a decisive impact on all spheres of state activity. The consequence of these events was a significant decrease in the volume of export-import operations on the international market by 31% (exports) and 21% (imports) as of August 2022, which are record indicators for the entire period of existence of independent Ukraine. It was established that the product structure remains almost unchanged and is based on the product specialization of the country. As for the regional distribution, during the analysis it was found that a significant decrease in volumes is observed primarily in the regions of hostilities. These include Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. Regions that suffer from massive missile attacks, which leads to significant destruction of infrastructure, which in turn significantly affects the production of goods for export were also highlighted. These include Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Vinnytsia regions and the city of Kyiv. The study showed that in the regions of Western Ukraine against the background of a general decrease in exports and imports, on the contrary, a slight increase in these indicators is observed. This is primarily due to the internal migration of the population in search of a safer place. The main exporting and importing countries were also determined. They remain Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic, Lithuania and France. It has been proven that the war has a significant negative impact on the economic situation in Ukraine, which threatens the stabilization of Ukraine's international trade relations with the countries of the world. But strong support from partner countries will help to restore the state of foreign trade to the proper level.
