Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of companies that are adapting their business to the challenges of today, where “green” logistics is considered as one of the effective technologies for ensuring business development. Thus, most foreign companies use green technologies in their operations. It is established that green logistics, as a technology of innovation, unites most types of innovations into a single one. After reviewing the majority of green logistics practices in companies, the author draws conclusions: companies are increasingly using innovative methods; companies are using ways to «decarbonize» the economy. A strategy for the development of companies through the prism of green logistics goals has been developed. The cost-effectiveness of implementing green logistics in the business environment of companies can be considered based on strategic priorities: government support and economic incentives, cost reduction through process optimization, increased competitiveness in the international market, reduction of environmental risks and fines, and savings on waste disposal.Since the effectiveness of green logistics is influenced by many internal and external environmental factors, they can cause both losses and become a source of additional income. Risks arise when applying green logistics: incompatibility of new technologies with existing processes, high cost of implementing environmental technologies, insufficient development of the state environmental infrastructure, unplanned costs for employee training, lack of demand for environmental services in some segments, the possibility of power or communication outages, and terrorist attacks. These theoretical and methodological developments of the study are the basis for further research in the field of logistics, development strategies and innovative technologies.
