MODERN APPROACHES IN FORMING MANAGERS OF THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article analyzes the processes of training managers for the oil and gas industry of Ukraine at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas and at the Drohobych College of Oil and Gas. The work of 12 full-time faculties, the faculty of correspondence and distance learning, the faculty of foreign students, and 57 departments, 33 of which are graduate departments, was analyzed. A new form of study – externship – is being analyzed. Areas of training and specialties were licensed and accredited at the appropriate levels. A system of bachelor’s training in 14 fields of knowledge and 23 areas was opened. New departments were created at the university, and the number of students increased significantly. The number of graduates increased. The educational process was improved, for this purpose scientific and methodological conferences were held. The educational process was carried out according to a step-by-step scheme of training specialists based on educational and professional programs (EPP) and educational and qualification characteristics (ECC) based on state industry standards for training specialists. The working curricula were changed, taking into account the peculiarities of the educational process according to the credit-modular system and taking into account changes in the working curricula. Particular attention was paid to the training of specialists of the oil and gas complex of Ukraine. Close cooperation was established between the educational process, science and business. The university has introduced a credit-modular system for organizing the educational process (CMSONP). The rating system for controlling students’ knowledge, introduced in recent years, has contributed to improving the quality of training specialists. The test system for assessing students’ knowledge has proven itself positively. An important place is occupied by the organization of employment of specialists in the system of the oil and gas complex of Ukraine. A special place in the training of managers is occupied by the scientific potential of IFNTUNG and the system of work of the university’s teaching staff. The number of students with scientific degrees exceeded 80 %. 14 scientific and pedagogical workers of the university became laureates of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. The rector of the university, Kryzhanivskyi E.I., received the title of academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The university had 6 specialized academic councils for the defense of candidate theses in 9 specialties and doctoral theses in 6 specialties.
