ANALYSIS OF RISK MANAGEMENT IN IT PROJECTS UNDER BURNOUT CONDITIONS

Abstract

In modern conditions, the issue of risk management in IT projects is becoming critically important. Additionally, the pandemic and its associated restrictions, as well as military actions, have made remote work the norm for many organizations, introducing new challenges in IT project management. The scientific novelty lies in a comprehensive approach to analyzing IT project risks, considering the specific conditions of contemporary challenges, particularly military actions and the associated stress factors for the team. The study examines both internal and external risks, including psychological aspects that contribute to employee burnout. Using the SWOT analysis methodology, the research investigates internal and external risks, highlighting high levels of responsibility and workload on key team members, insufficient support for psychological well-being, unrealistic deadlines and workloads, poor communication, military actions, power supply restrictions, remote work of evacuated employees, high unpredictability of changes, insufficient participation of key stakeholders, and legislative changes. The impact of each risk on project parameters (time, cost, scope) is determined, providing a more accurate picture of potential threats and their impact on project success. New approaches to risk management are proposed, taking into account the problem of team members' burnout and the complex influence of external and internal factors. IT companies must be prepared for rapid adaptation to changes in legislation and the political situation. This includes regular monitoring of the external environment and developing appropriate action plans, as well as foreseeing strategies for working in conditions of high unpredictability and uncertainty, including backup access to resources and ensuring alternative ways to complete tasks. Considering the issue of team members' burnout is crucial for ensuring the successful implementation of IT projects. Effective stress management, support for employees' psychological well-being, and creating a favorable work environment will contribute to increased productivity, work quality, and overall project success.
