PHILOSOPHY OF PSYCHOLOGY AS A SCIENCE OF BEHAVIOR AND AN ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE

Abstract

The article examines the role of interdisciplinary research in the field of general and socio-behavioral sciences in particular in the educational environment. The main attention is focused on the philosophy of psychology as a behavioral science and an academic discipline. The role of the philosophy of psychology in the modern educational process is emphasized, since this knowledge forms the worldview of future specialists and is important for cognition, spiritual-theoretical and civic selfdetermination of the individual. The emergence of psychosophy is argued on the basis of the philosophy of psychology, which is based on the phenomenon of the work of the mental apparatus and the essence of human psychological experience. It is noted that psychosophy as a new methodology organically combines psychological knowledge and philosophical thinking, and also proceeds from positions where (1) the development of philosophy is perceived as the development of ideas about man; (2) the human psyche, the entire psyche in its entirety, in a broad sense – is the person himself. The proposed new epistemological model allows for a systematic study of the phenomenon of man as the most complex open system, as well as providing a specific person with real assistance in self-realization, actualization of his reserves. The rationality of studying the philosophy of psychology in higher educational institutions is substantiated, in particular through a module on the history of the philosophy of psychology, which covers pre-scientific psychology, the experience of psychoanalysis, the post-psychoanalytic period and humanistic philosophy of psychology. Attention is also focused on the methodological aspect of studying the philosophy of psychology, since the philosophy of psychology as an academic discipline performs important methodological functions: it contributes to the development of a scientific and rational style of thinking of students, improves the skills of productive activity, and meaningful reading of philosophical and psychological literature and solving philosophical and worldview problems. The findings indicate a growing scientific interest in social and behavioral sciences, an expansion of the range of choices of interdisciplinary academic disciplines, which together should, through the content of educational courses, form a modern scientific worldview of students.
