Abstract

The article considers the prerequisites for the development of international cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the field of alternative energy. The main goals of international bilateral partnership and ways to achieve them are indicated. Based on the analysis of the works of domestic scientists, it was determined that scientific research on the topic of international cooperation of Ukraine in the field of alternative energy requires additional research, considering the realities of the post-COVID economy. A brief graphical analysis of the potential of the alternative energy sector in Ukraine was conducted. According to the results of the analysis, trends in the growth of the total installed capacities of renewable energy sources in Ukraine were determined, and the dynamics of individual types of alternative energy sources were also considered. Attention was focused on the need to attract investment resources to the development of alternative energy, in particular by establishing scientific and technical cooperation and improving the regulatory and legal framework in the energy sector. It was determined that international cooperation between Ukraine and EU countries is a guarantor of Europe's energy security and the achievement of progress in technical, technological and market integration. As a result of the conducted research, prospects for the development of the sector of alternative energy sources in Ukraine in the context of international cooperation with the EU were revealed, in particular, the synchronization of the domestic energy system with the energy system of continental Europe ENTSO-E and the development of the production of "green" hydrogen, with further export to the countries of the European Union. It is noted that Ukraine's international partnership with the countries of the European Union in the war and post-war periods will provide an opportunity to assess the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war and involve international partners in the process of restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
