STRATEGIC PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF UKRAINE'S AGRICULTURE IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET

Abstract

In the conditions of the globalization of the economy, the high level of variability of the external environment and the strengthening of industry competition, agrarian business remains an important component of the national economy and a driver of development in foreign markets. That is why the article examines the issue of the development of agroindustrial companies of Ukraine on the international market within the framework of determining their strategic prospects. The author's research results are based on the processing of a significant number of open-access sources, scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists, as well as regulatory and legal acts. The research presented in the article provides an opportunity to determine, it was determined that before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia on the territory of Ukraine, the domestic sector of agricultural production was considered a key player in the world market and annually increased its income from export activities. The main trends and key problems of the development of the domestic agro-industrial complex sector, which is largely focused on the sale of raw materials, which is a negative factor, are outlined. The current state of functioning and trends in the development of the agricultural sector on the global market is characterized, which involves constant price fluctuations, an excess of supply over demand and requires compliance with international standards of product quality and safety. The impact of the war on the functioning of the domestic agro-industry sector was studied and it was found that a large number of cultivated areas and livestock of birds and cattle in the south of Ukraine were lost due to military actions, logistical connections were broken, production facilities were destroyed and damaged, and fields were mined in the territories of hostilities. As a result, the main goals and strategic prospects for the development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine are outlined, which include the diversification of logistics connections with exporting countries, ensuring a high level of product quality, in accordance with international standards, creating added value for agricultural sector products due to the processing of raw materials, and increasing the level of state support for the development of the agricultural sector.
